Estabishment of Platform for Air Quality Model in Taiwan(III)

Absrtact
The purpose of this project is to setup Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) grid model for simulating the air quality in Taiwan in order to reduce the differences among various air quality models and users. In order to update to TEDS11.1, the base year is 2019 for this year project. Therefore, the natural and anthropogenic emissions in eastern Asia have been updated to year 2019 by integrating EDGARv6.1-AP and field observation data. In this third year project, 4 additional sets of meteorological parameters have been tested in WRF simulation to further improve the model performance. However, no significant differences were found in the air quality simulation. The base year 2019 have been simulated by using CMAQv5.3. The established model has been used to simulate the impacts of utilities for year 2025 on the ambient air quality, to analyze the differences of forecasting based on only emission reduction in Taiwan, to forecast the air quality based on the NIP-II, and to simulate the future ambient air qualities in 2030 and 2050 for scenario of 2050 carbon net-zero emission. The exchange platform has been installed in Taiwnia 1 and there are 8 parts within the platform: Latest news, About platform, Display, Download, Training, comments, website and management. Technical trainings for CMAQ platform have been conducted on May, 19th and June 2nd, 2023.
